Job Description
- Eestablishing budget guidelines, preparing the overall budget of the company in a timely manner with consideration to high.
- Analyze financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies in financial record-keeping.
- Developing and maintaining internal financial controls to ensure accuracy, integrity, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure sufficient liquidity to meet obligations.
- Manage working capital efficiently.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Present financial results to senior management or stakeholders.
- Identify financial risks and Implement controls and risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure proper insurance and compliance practices are in place.
- Evaluate investment opportunities.
- Manage Company’s capital structure.
- Liaise with banks, investors, and financial institutions.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Monitor and control departmental budgets.
- Improve financial efficiency across departments.
- Ensure timely tax filings and payments.
- Stay updated with tax laws and financial regulations.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities.
- Lead and mentor finance team members and Allocate tasks and set performance goals
- Developing financial policies and procedures and gaining the approval of the board to ensure the approved policies are aligned to the strategic direction of the company
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A master’s degree in finance or business administration is an added advantage.
- Certifications: ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Must be a member of a recognized financial body.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the insurance or financial services sector.
